'Lunch Time’ grabs 3 awards at Brazilian film festival

Iran short ‘Lunch Time’ bags 3 awards at Porto Alegre Screenwriting Festival – FRAPA in Brazil.

Iranian short film ‘Lunch Time’ directed by Alireza Qasemi has grabbed three awards at the 5th edition of the Porto Alegre Screenwriting Festival – FRAPA, held in Brazil.

The film won awards for the best title, the best dialogue and the best screenplay in the short film section of the Brazilian festival.

The 15-minute film is about a high school girl who has come to the hospital to identify the body of her mother. The people in charge at the hospital would not let her into the morgue because of her young age.

After being nominated for a short film Palme d’Or at 70th Cannes, the film has been scheduled to screen for the second time at the global level in the 23rd Palm Springs International ShortFest.

Among the cast members of ‘Lunch Time’ are Khorshid Cheraqipour, Roya Bakhtiari, Amir Taqdiri, Peyman Naemi, Siavash Cheraqipour, Bahram Omrani, Pouria Akhavan, Mohammad Haddadi, Alireza Qasemi, Mehdi Yeganeh, and Arash Qasemi.

The Porto Alegre Screenwriting Festival – FRAPA is the first Latin American screenwriting festival focused on film and television.

The festival has become a powerful space, since the first edition, to think and debate screenwriting in Latin America, bringing hundreds of professionals from all over the continent to the South Brazilian capital of Porto Alegre.

It contributes for the exchange of experiences, the qualification of professionals and the celebration of new partnerships in Brazilian TV and film production.
